I know this isn't exactly the kind of tool that's usually listed here so I made sure to clear the posting with our moderator team. Ryan gave it the green light, so here it goes!
I have a new-in-box Cold War era Radiacmeter kit that I picked up years ago at a surplus store. It's a unit designed to be installed in a fallout shelter to indicate when it's safe to come out after a nuclear blast. My dream was to install it in my shop / man cave at some point in the future and I've been dragging it around ever since. However, after tripping over it for so long I think maybe it's time to let someone else have a go. The kit is complete and as far as I know functional (if you can source the strange batteries or fab up a power supply).
I figure with some of the sweet man-cave / hangout garages I see here (you know the ones, with the shiny clean floors and big screen TVs) someone out there would want this thing hanging on their wall. My little shop tends to be knee deep in saw / grinding dust at any given moment and without insulation or heat it's not much fun to hang out in during our Canadian winters.
I'm asking $400 USD plus shipping (whatever method you prefer, Purolator seems to go as low as $50-70). The only catch might be the shipping since I'm in Canada and I don't know what the ramifications are for shipping something like this across borders.
I hope someone out there is interested and can give this beauty the place of honour that I just couldn't spare!
Thanks for looking,
-Nate
