Heres what I've got going on. 24x32x10 garage. 2 doors on the 24ft side. Im wanting to add on width wise and go higher but keep it all attached. Ideally add 24-30 ft of width and I need 14 ft ceilings. The current shop is a 4/12 pitch. I would also like to add an additional 2 (16-18ft) trusses in the back, essentially making a L shape around the existing structure, to have a wash/paint bay.

Looking forward to all of your responses.

So if I understand correctly - you want to increase the height of the existing garage by 2 feet while doubling it's size while replacing the entire roof structure and then blowing the back wall out. So - the existing garage now has two walls left (assuming you blow one wall out to merge with the addition)?

Start over.

Seems like you are trying to do this the hard expensive way.
Draw a picture of what you have and then what you want
That will help

Yep, post up a "proposed" layout of what your end result might be . . . . also post up PICS of what you've got now.

Whatever you do, don't screw up flow of water on roof . . . AND . . . potential buildup of snow if you get any. No shortcuts or you'll kill potential future resale value.

I'm not wanting to raise what is there now. Im wanting to leave the 24x32 as is and add a tall bay onto it, on the 24ft side. Ill get a picture and do a quick rendering tomorrow.

Im wanting to add on an L shape arpund the garage that.is there, leaving the two seperated on the interior. As to have a 2 car garage seperated from the working shop.

Think about the roof lines and how you will blend the drainage in with the taller garage on 2 sides.

Can you show an existing roof plan and the proposed foot print of the new addition? If you want to add 24-30' width and the roof ridge runs in that direction, sounds easy to me. Your new roof would have a step up to a higher ridge. The "L" shape may be more of a challenge. However, by running a perpendicular ridge into the new part you can get your bay.

That is if I understand your layout and I'm not sure any of us do.

New higher roof (ignore the hips):

Your "L" shape might take this configuration:
