i'm about to roll in two equipto pedestal work benches...

this is one of the last components of my space overhaul. picked up two 6ft equipto benches with drawers and cabinet and kick space. i was mainly interested in the 1 3/4" thick wood tops, but the steel is pretty nice! first time i've seen them and i do like. what is the word on the quality? they seem expensive new. i snagged them from a closing shop though.

im thinking i may strip the steel on these, resurface the tops, and use as is. i bet they'd look pretty slick redone.

...going to unload now. if anyone wants pics, let me know. i'm not sure if these are common or not. i don't think they are more than 20 yrs old.

ok. even if you're lying, i appreciate the thought.

i didn't get to put as much time in on them as i'd hoped, but i did get them unloaded, cleaned up (wipe and vac) and into the garage. i like to think i've seen a lot of steel furniture and overall i think these things are pretty nice. they don't have the deco style i usually try for, but are solid, well thought out, and were not constructed with saving costs at every turn in mind.

it's also harder to post pics than i thought. it looks as if i need to have a url/webhost and can't just upload pic into the post. let me see what i can do for that...

in the meantime here is my attempt to link to a representative image. my tables look just like that except they are tan and have a 72 x 36 x 1.75 ash top - instead of the blue steel.

Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help me find out more about this Equipto workbench. I think it's probably from the 1970's, but I can't seem to find any serial/model number to look up any reference materials, etc. I plan on cleaning it up and refinishing it.
