Like it says I'm building a shed. I need to get the lawn **** out of the garage, as well as other items. I have a very limited space to build it in, and need room to possibly rebuild garage at a laterer date. I was thinking of building a barn style with a minimum of 10-12ft exterior height. It will be 18ft long inside, and 6ft wide inside dimensions. I need it tall because I want to hang a canoe inside it. I also would like to put doors on both ends, so I can access it from either end and make it easier to use. This way nothing is stored all the way at the back.

Suggestions or ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Actually it says ashed. Also, it is a later date. :lol_hitti
Just messing with ya. Go to the library, they'll have books on sheds. Use the search function. Make sure you do it legal for your property so you don't create problems for yourself.

I recommend making it wider. 6 feet really isn't that wide. If you have the space atleast go 8. You figure a toolbox on one side and a lawnmower on the other doesn't leave but 2.5/3 feet to walk down the isle

The space that it will reside in is only 10 ft between garage and fence. Any wider than 6ft and even my skinny *** will be hard pressed to get between to do maintenance, or even build it.

I like the idea of doors on both ends so there is not the wasted space of an isle or much of an isle to get at stuff. I think you could build a partial wall dividing the two sides or a shelf in the middle dividing the two sides and have the canoe over the top across it

You'll still need some form of aisle even with doors at both ends. Why don't you build a 5 foot deep "enclosed shelf system" off the back of the shed with access doors the whole way along. No aisle space, no access issues.

Most properties have setback limits that prohibit placing structures that close to property lines (in my case it's 10 feet and 15 feet back/side). That said, though, you would be better off to build the shed as an attachment ONTO the garage out the side and not have to worry about getting between the two structures.

Can't do that, permit will then be required, also the garage floor on that side is sinking(it is slab on grade), and the garage will someday get replaced. As for setbacks, my property is zoned downtown mixed use, and therefore, I can get to within 1ft of all my property lines, no biggie there. As it is, my house is already within 7ft of the property line on that side. I have 10ft between garage and the property line where I want to build the shed. As long as I center the shed between the 2, I'll have enough room to work, and also to rebuild garage laterer if I can ever afford it...
