Snow and subzero temps kinda slowed things down this week. The current plan is to prep for the pad on Monday and pour it on Tuesday. The electrician was able to get a few outlets hot this week as well. Picked up a nice used fridge from the Habitat for Humanity store, a couple of the Coleman garage cabinets from Lowes and a kitchen full of wall & base cabinets from a gal remodeling her kitchen. Hope to get the electrical done this week and start dragging all my "man stuff" out of storage soon.

I realized I hadn't updated in a few months. All the inspections are done and I'm beginning the process of moving in and setting up. I did it smart this time, I rented a liftgate truck and hired a couple movers off of Craigslist. Took less than 3 hours to empty out the storage unit and get everything put in the shop.
Got a couple of my big Coleman storage cabinets assembled:
I also picked up some kitchen cabinets from a house undergoing a remodel. I have the bases installed and hope to get the uppers put up this weekend. I installed an air header of 1/2" black iron pipe all the way around.
My Direct Lift 8K 2 post should be here in the next week or 2. More pics to come!

I interviewed 8 different builders before deciding to go with Cleary. Morton was in the mix as well as local builders. I got quotes from 20-29K for the exact same building from all 8. Cleary was right in the middle price wise, the local office had been in business for years, I had the opportunity to view buildings they had built and talk to folks that had used them. At the end of the process they were the clear winner.
It's not a small investment, so do your homework. Check references and go look at some of their work before making a decision. Good luck!

Building is looking good, I'm right down the road from you in Mead. Did you go with a 4" or 6" slab? And did you finish out at 12' to bottom of the truss after pouring the slab? I just got my Direct Lift 4 post a couple weeks ago, your gonna really like having one at home.

nice, my buddys dad built a big cleary building the same size you did and sectioned off a 40x20 section and insulated, drywalled, and he heats it. that's where he actually works on stuff, his tools are there. The other 40x40 is mostly storage for the million toys he's got aka 2 boats, 2 tractors, a big lawn mower, 3 snowmobiles, 2 four wheelers, a dirt bike, 2 cars, 2 trucks, and i'm sure i missed something! of course he stores some of this in his 3 car attached garage with the 3rd lane being 2 cars deep! ahaahahah he just finished this master house and garage 2 months ago. he is most definatly livin the dream as i bet you are feeling with your shop right now!
