Probably 400 would be more fair. Lot of rusty junk in that box. I don't even see a complete set of sockets there. Another idiot who inherited some tools. If he had any brains, he'd keep them and use 'em.

Who knows?
Well he's right about one thing. There's plenty of odds and ends in there. Not worth what he's asking though.

no kidding.

the above post of 400 is being very generous.

i think i could buy all of it for 400 new, ive bought boxes at the flea market more loaded for 150.00.......

I just threw out the 400 number because there could be some hidden goodness in there somewhere. Unlikely though.

120 is too low. I am guessing 200 might be fair. Who knows until you search through it.

These types of tool assortments are best kept in the family to be used assuming the person is at least somewhat mechanical and not a blithering idiot which is becoming more common these days.

lol, I can honestly say that I wouldnt even give 150 for that pile. Going by your pics I cant see anything in there that would be worth $150 I mean would anybody give even $100 for the box alone?

Of course, no one would give 100 for the box alone. 150 for the whole shebang might be fair.

A bunch of rusty and beat-to-death tools except for maybe some of the wrenches. And a lot of those wrenches are Craftsman. Not even cleaned up and arranged for sale - that shows the attitude of the seller. No, I would pass that up - no sale at even $100.00.

I was helping a relative after her husband passed. He left a beautiful red/gray 80's era Powr-Kraft toolbox (roller bottom and a smaller top chest). Probably made by Kennedy or Waterloo. No tools (I bought them off of her).

I listed the box on CL for $200. Had a couple knuckleheads compare it to that $89 K-Mart Evolv box. "I can buy a brand new one for $89, so I will give you $40 for yours." I didn't even respond to their replies. 1 guy came to look at it and mentioned the Evolv box price. I just said "they are not comparable at all" and walked into the house. He texted me several times wanting to buy it at the full price but I refused. An older gentleman ended up buying it, never even haggled.

Evolv is sears budget line. I find it had to see even 100.00 there. Maybe there is some thing we are missing. That is going to be on craigslist for a long time.

I see two snap on ratcheting screwdrivers and a snap on hard handled screwdriver (or maybe pick). Might be a few more items like that. $120 would make me consider it, depending on how much more snap on is in there, and if those ratcheting screwdrivers work.

Several snap on prybars on the side of the tool box.

I think a lot of the pliers are Snap on too, but in that poor of condition, they aren't worth much.

Also see a single Snap On wrench (new script) in the second photo. The flare nut wrenches might also be Snap On, or the full polish craftsmans. Photos aren't good enough to tell.

$120 would probably be a fair deal for both parties. Definitely not $1200 though.

Had this happen yesterday guy sent me pics said he's retiring was ase certified mechanic But it looks like he has spent a dime on tools in 10 years and wants $3500 from for a bunch of stuff that look beat halfway to hell and back and nothing against brands but it's was 75% Crapsman tools and for those price I could buy clean snappy and come out way ahead of the game

I don't get the mentality nor do I really need more tools

I have lots of Crapsman sockets and wrenches but I understand theres no big $$ resale value some of these CL'rs need a serious reality check

I see $200 of stuff there I think... a couple SO wrenches, two ratcheting screwdrivers, Snap On ratchet, Snap On pry bars. At $200, any hidden gems are just a bonus. No on will even take the time to email at $1200.

There is also a file set with hard handles in a roll, and a bunch of Snap On screwdrivers. Sill, nothing close to $1200 or even $500 dollars.

I might offer $50 if I was in a good mood at the time. Maybe $55 since it looks like he stood on top of the tool box to take photo #5.

If the seller didn't take the time to even try making the brand names and such visible they probably know darn well there isn't $1200 worth of stuff in there. That dirty disorganized mess shows how the tools were cared for as well.

I've done this too, I hate lowballers. I won't even sell to them at full price after they lowballed.

Looks like the mess of junk. I would be willing to take a look in person if it was $200

Although my OCD would kick in and I would want buy it just so I could just organize the box in some sane way. The pictures make my head hurt.

Did you people not notice the vintage, ALMOST FULL, jar of Vaseline in the last photo?! I'd say $1200 is a bargain!
