It took weeks for an answer on some wrenches, this will be solved eventually..lol

I remember a thread for an adjustable wrench with two hex keys sticking out of the jaws like a spanner, found in a barn. It took a long time, but someone finally saw an ad in a magazine for it. It was a spanner.

I'm pretty sure it won't count against our overall score...I'm convinced that it isn't actually tool.

As FSfabricator suggested, I'm certain it is a *part* or component of some larger apparatus. Guide for a gutter machine? Steel siding roller? Not really a TOOL at all.

I mean, we can't be expected to sort out the whatzits from the whoozits when it's just a little piece of the picture, right?

If I dismantle a TurboIncabulator and pluck out *just*the dysgrontler and laid it on the table....you'd ALL be stumped because all alone, it looks just like a Ramgus valve. No one would be the wiser.

I cut that from a previous post and googled it. Then just picked a photo of an interesting looking one.

I will admit, big heavy factory machines are kind of fun to look at.

Guide I could see but what would it go with? Don’t think it would work as a gripper since the wheels roll.

They may in fact roll but if they are on an eccentric they would only let a piece of material go one way. I have a simple version of that on a screen saw I own. without the material between the rollers they will spin both directions. once a piece of stock is pushed in, they wont roll backwards.

I haven’t found a piece of metal the right thickness to make it stop or grab. If anything it might be meant to guide but I still want to know what it goes to.

I finally got a chance to slide metal through it and you can roll it either direction. It doesn’t grip and doesn’t leave any imprint. It was probably the thickest piece of metal that would fit though.

So that is making me lean towards some kind of guide but what does it actually go to?

Very unlikely. I’ve run equipment my whole life, my old man has ran equipment his whole life. Neither of us have any idea. It also doesn’t really match Cat yellow in person.

If I recall correctly the Cat Yellow changed colors in the '40 or '50s.

Looks kind of like a wire rope (cable) winding jig - where you take 2 pieces of wound cable and turn them around themselves to make a cable.
