I'm a terrible hoarder of both tools and small engines. I started working on small engines in grade school as a hobby, then later I found the online car and DIY community in the early 2000's, the Rodders Roundtable (RRT), the H.A.M.B., etc, realized I was not alone. Before the internet was a thing the local library was my source for Chilton's car repair manuals, small engine books etc. You couldn't check out reference books. but you could make photocopies of the pages you needed. The internet in my opinion is a blessing and a curse, on the plus side you have access to all the information you will ever need, on the downside, it's too easy, you don't need to ask your retired mechanic / father etc about how to figure something out.
