I'm looking at picking up some screwdrivers for my bag, I currently use Stanley **** that bugs me to no end. I'm looking at Toptul and SK (should be an obvious choice, right?)

I can piece together a 13 pc. Toptul set for what I would pay for an 8pc. of the SK Expert 2..

Does anyone have experience with both brands? Opinions?

I passed up a killer deal on some C-man Pros whilst looking at the SK set

I have a few Blue Point drivers that are set into the Snap-On Instinct handle at work (weird, I know..a Mercury Marine promo), and I don't really care for the handle (older style).

Not to mention Snap-On is out of my price range at this point, and I'd be nervous about hanging them over water.

then I would go with the Cman pro, from what I can tell from pictures the blades are identical to snap on :lol_hitti

SK, got to be kidding...????
Sk went out of biz. No warranty on them. Scewdrivers are a consumable. They get dull and break sometimes on tough fasteners. So many good drivers with a warranty I would definately skip the SK. I have owned a few of the newer SK screwdrivers and they were good, though nothing special.

Toptul is another fail to me. They offer a good warranty, but it is far from simple and not exactly strong dealer support. I can't speak to qulaity.

Nothing wrong with the two brands you listed, though neither is a good choice when as good or better products are available with great product support. I would say Craftsman Pro series screwdrivers. They are very good quality and offer great support. Klein are also good, but as of late seem to be of lesser quality then Craftsman pro. But just warranty them at any Home Depot.

I would say get some Stanley 100 plus screwdrivers. They are great and Stanley has great support. Unfortunately when I sent 10 buggered up ones in for warranty that I had collected, they were out of stock on some, and I got complete junk chicom ones back as replacement items.

I think your best bet is Klein, Craftsman Pro or Snap-On. Snap-on stands behind their drivers and has easy warranty. They are of great quality. Craftsman pro are almost as good and are a fraction of the cost with great warranty. Klein are good and offer good support as well.

I hadn't looked at Klein, but I don't have anywhere to warranty those around here.

Basically, for local warranty, my choices are Craftsman, GearWrench, and whatever Ace stocks..

I can get some GW at a decent price, any reviews? I should note that these will be used over 30+ feet of water at some point, and price is very important.

Just buy the craftsman pro.

And get one of those magent parts trays drill a hole through one take 30+ feet of rope push it through the hole tie a knot on the bottom and go fishing if you drop one.

Also buy a few to put your tools in

The Craftsman Pro, Klien or Husky Pro are all nice and made in the US. If you buy the Husky Pro go for the open stock. The Craftsman Pro are about the best bang for the buck.

Craftsman Pro hands down for the best deal. You can buy all the different ones they have for around $100.

I ended up going with GearWrench for my mobile bag, as they are all I could warranty here and used a promo code to save almost 50%.. Got 1/8"x3", 1/4"x1-1/2", 1/4"x4", 5/16"x6", 3/8"x8" slotted, #1x3", #2x1-1/2", #2x4, #3x6" phillips, #1, #2, 3/16", 1/4" low clearance offset, and T30x4" for around $30. Not a bad deal, and I really like the feel of the handles.

My Sears guy said he could order C-Man Pro, but, it would take a while if I would need to warranty one. I may still pick some up for home/dry land use.

May be worth noting that my Advance is clearing out the two stubby drivers, and has them in the system at $0.05.

I think Toptul is no longer an option. Mike is no longer reliable, and neither Mike nor Steve@ultimategarage seem to be able to restock their inventory fast enough.

Toptul screwdrivers are a good value, if you can find somebody to buy them from.

Looks like I saved $55 over combined retail, I'll chalk it up as a success.

i have had the cman pros for over a year now, and i still have not made my mind up on whether or not i like them. They have nice blades, but the handles feel so cheap! I have grown up with standard clear craftsman handles. I just cant decide which i like better.
