Easy to hang up if its a scam, just emailed this one myself.

milwaukee air impact wrench - $20 (huntington beach)

Snap on, Matco, Craftsman - $50 (Huntington Beach)

I have a couple trays full of matco, snap on and craftsman sockets and wrenches. We just moved and I dont have a use for them. As you are aware, these carry ridiculous warranties. Email me for details.

someone who can read?
What I'm saying is that most women I've ever known would not BOTHER to read tool brands and even if they did, they probably wouldn't know what brands might be desirable to list in an ad. This is not very far from me, but I think I'm going to pass.

I tried searching for that same description, but it didn't come up all over CL. A lot of the scams will just cut/paste all over the country.

To my knowledge, there is no such thing as a milwaukee air impact wrench

Its hard to say if its real or not. I do a lot of stuff with buying and selling on craigslist and find all posts are different. yes there are easy ones to know they are scammers, but its not always easy to tell. One guy I worked with found an ad that said brand new dodge ram truck for sale. First one with $1 gets it as it was my ex husbands. He didn't think it was real but figured he would email anyway. He ended up going and sure enough he got the truck for a dollar and everything cleared on it. The lady was mad because her ex husband cheated on her and that was her way of getting back at him. With that said, it cant hurt to email and see if its real. just dont do anything that involves shipping and always make it cash payments and you cant really be scammed that way.

yeah thats true. I started a little craigslist business for myself to make a little money while going to college. I have bought and sold over 200 things on craigslist and haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood). Here are the steps I use to keep from getting scammed.

1.) CASH ONLY. I never take a check or anything. If they want I will go to their bank so they can cash it and then give me the cash.
2.) PICKUP IN PERSON ONLY. I never ship anything or use shipping companies. If they want it they have to be there to get it. I will usually hold an item if they
3.) MEET IN A PUBLIC AREA. I usually meet at a gas station as it tends to always have other people around. The only acception is if the items are big then I have them come to the house.
4.) MEET AT A REASONABLE TIME.I also dont change the meeting place at the last second. I only meet when the gas stations are open and dont really like after 8 pm. I also would never believe someone couldn't make it there because they broke down so could I meet "here" instead.
5.) ONLY GIVE THE ITEM IF YOU HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL. I dont take payments on an item unless they understand I keep the item until they are fully paid up.
6.) If you dont feel comfortable or think something is a scam, dont go for it. trust your gut. Most of the amazing deals that are hard to believe are fake so dont always believe what they say. When buying stuff do your homework. (But sometimes the people dont know what they have at it still may be a really great deal)
7.) When buying stuff I still dont want them to ship it to me. If its not posted in the area I searched then its probably fake.

These are the simple rules I go by and I havent had problems yet, So go by these and your 99.99% sure to have a safe transaction

It all depends. My wife kinda knows tool brands and I think she'd list them off if she was selling them. Hold on let me ask her.

Alright. She said if I died, she'd either sell them off as a lot or get somebody else to sell them off, like my father.
If we were divorcing, she'd go through the tools and look up values online and sell them in lots by brand somewhere like ebay. She also specifically referenced snap-on and craftsman.

Hopefully we never divorce, but if we do, my wife would apparently list brands out.
I don't know, maybe that ad is legit.

You dont have to believe me but its true. I didnt believe him at first either until he showed up in a new Ram. The lady sold it like that because her name was also on the truck and he already paid for it in full. Apparently the ex tried to spend all of their money before divorcing on a truck, boat, etc but the truck was put in both their names so she was able to sell it and had the title and keys in her hand. Also when I said brand new it was actually a year old but still new and good shape

This should be posted on craigslist as something like general save your *** rules lol. Didn't think of gas stations, I usually meet up at Burger King, Mcdonalds or a local supermarket for the same reasons - usually plenty of people around, well lit parking lot if it's night time and best of all, they don't know where you live at the end of the day.

Last year around this time I saw a posting for a atlas lathe with a bunch of extra for 300 OBO, said her husband ran off and left the lathe and she needed money to feed the kids. Emailed her right away and she emailed back and said one guy came to look at it and when he plugged it in it ran steady, couldn't turn it off unless they unplugged it so she said 200-250 and asked when I could come look at it and make a deal. I said I could later that night. She emailed back about an hour later saying it was sold. Pretty sure it was real otherwise she wouldn't have wasted the time to email me saying it was sold. I have really wanted a lathe for a couple years now and wish I could have picked up this one for that cheap. Still looking for a lathe but don't really have the money right now.

Plus this:

but the truck was put in both their names so she was able to sell it and had the title and keys in her hand.

Why wouldn't she try to get more for it. If it's in both their names, and she can sell it, then presumably she could get a bit more than $1 in cash and stash it or whatever.

Also this bit:

Also when I said brand new it was actually a year old but still new and good shape

is typical bullshitter logic. Clarify some stall detail to give the appearance of honesty.

Either way, I don't believe it either.

Doesn't both there names mean both their signatures?

Plus in a divorce all transactions tend to get reviewed by the court.

I don't have it in my anyway to cheat either the husband or the wife. I would be the one that shows up and writes up a list of what everything should sell for, then doesn't buy any because its too expensive.

*** Basic rule for any transaction, if it feels too hinky, don't let greed make you stupid.

Like I said, I wont lose any sleep over you not believing me. 1) I know he wouldn't lie to me about it and he did show me the posting about it, so yeah I believe him. Hes played practical jokes and lied to people in the shop before and can't resist telling hes just kidding for more than a day. 2) I think she sold it for $1 out of principle. If you were him not only would you be mad that she sold your new truck, but when she says she sold it for $1 thats icing on the cake. That would really make you mad. Plus it didnt really seem like she needed the money. Like you said yeah all transactions are reviewed so alot of the stuff he bought would probably be taken into consideration and she was still gonna get something out of it. 3) Seeing as a drive a 17 year old vehicle I tend to consider anything new within a year or two as being brand new. I don't know why but I usually say it.
I also just got done helping someone else sell their car with both spouses names on the title and only one has to sign it over. At least here

I agree, send an email. I've bought a lot of things of CL and have even gone to some shady areas, but once I've met the people, I've never had a problem. As long as you are careful, and even take a friend, not much can happen.

Use the "I don't get paid till friday but can I come take a look" That way they don't think you have the cash on you. If they decline for you to come look just don't bother.
