I would say the majority of dis-assembly is 3/8" and 1/4" air ratchet work. Iv'e grown up in the industry and I have pretty good idea of the tools necessary. There are cases where a heavy duty impact is a lifesaver. Seized lug nuts, rusted bumper bolts, suspension components.

The earthquake is a great gun. Its comparable in power to the Snappy and the big Aircats. Its major drawback is weight though. Its like using a brick. Its also not balanced very well. Its hard on your wrists and arms when you use it all day.

I would jump all over every snap on deal you can while in school and if you buy a box for half price like I did when i was in high school you can turn around and trade it in for full price on a bigger one I did.

Did you get yours back up to full power after re-greasing it?

I would use that $ to buy gold torx sockets, reg sockets, swivel sockets,air/cordless ratchets in 1/4 -3/8,and body tools.
I was a mobile glass installer, based out of a body shop....and in my regular route of #5 new dealerships (with seperate body shops)8# bodyshops, I very seldom watched a 1/2 impact being used.

We have ran across many cases over the years where we needed more torque than we had available. The stronger the tool the better in my book.

Lol...i sure did. Turns out i just put to much grease in it and that slowed it down. Its back and running like a champ! It really does amaze me how powerfull these guns are. I have a couple of coworkers who use the Snappy or the big Aircats and i am constantly trying to find something they will remove that the Earthquake will not. So far...nothing. It is definitly amongst the most powerfull 1/2 guns on the market...just heavy.
