I have argued against using a drill adaptor on an impact driver here before. The centrifugal impact is hard on bits. And, as it turns out, iit is hard on the adaptor. At work I was stuck with the tools available. I was using a Makita adapter marketed for impacts on a Milwaukee m12 with max torque of 89 ft lbs. Second 1/2" hole in 3/32" sheet metal this happens:

The shank broke cleanly off the adaptor. Next time I will be sure to have the right tool for the job.
