I was led to this site when i googled "American made impact driver". I registered in part because several of the posters were as disturbed as i was about the lack of american made tools.i just returned from Lowes they have no american made impact drivers,so i left empty handed.

Welcome to the site! You'll find good quality American made tools at more garage sales than stores these days. Check the Classifieds Section here or post a Wanted Ad and I'm sure someone here has what you want/need.

Are you talking about cordless impact drivers or the standard manual one?

Snap-on has manual impact drivers that are made in usa. I don't think they have cordless ones, but they have cordless impact wrenches.

You could always get a small (14.4v) USA made impact wrench from Snap-on and get an adapter to convert it to a hex driver (like Milwaukee Impact Adapter 48-03-4405, NOT made in USA)

But you will be paying quite a premium.

Check out a Lisle... you can find them on Amazon. A 3/8" (only size I've ever seen) is $30. I have a Snap-On which is a Lisle for 20 plus years and while I don't use it often, when you need it there is NOTHING else that will work. Good Luck and welcome to GJ.

As a sidenote:

It is interesting to note that Lisle's patent for their impact driver dates back to 1965.

It is always fascinating to read the abstract's and drawings.

Patent number 3366187
