Impact Extensions What do you guys like?

Ok so I scoured the search function and could really get a 100% answer on what I'm looking for, basically with the addition of the new Milwaukee stubby 3/8 impact that I should have in my hands this weekend I am building a list of all impact tools I want to add right now to go along with the new wrench. So I am going to buy the astro nano sockets sets in both sae and metric I want the most compact setup I can get to start, I'm looking at the sunex universal adapters as I have heard good things about those compared to others. What I cant seem to decided on is extensions, I was going to get the Sunex 3500 3/8-Inch Drive Impact Extension Set 4-Piece but read a couple of negative comments on here about them.

So what do you guys use and like? I'm not looking for snap-ons so please don't suggest them (to rich for my blood) really I'm just looking for something mid priced that isn't junk I know all of them can fail but just wanted to see what you guys have had good luck with.

Also only looking for standard locking extensions not wobbles. Thanks

I've used a combo of HF and sunex as my main set for 5+ years. Zero failures thus far. Just got a nice deal on some sunex wobble impact extensions, when the HF finally die or wear out.

If I can make a living with sunex/HF, they'll be just fine. I'm a big believer in sunex impacts, top notch for the price.

Have had good luck and no complaints with my 18-19 year old Wright extensions

I prefer no extension due to torque loss, but they are darn handy.

For 3/8 & 1/2, I use Sunex wobble extensions, broke the 3" in 1/2 & 3/8, they took a lot more then you'd think before the heads popped off and lasted a long time (4+ years of regular use). Sunex and USA Craftsman round out the rest (mostly Napa branded Sunex).

I do have a S-K 1/4 impact set and they are very nice.

In 20 years I haven't broken a chrome extension on a 3/8", 1/2" or 3/4" impact.

I did look at those locking protos how do you like them? I wasn't really sure if the lock would be that useful which is why I was looking at regular snap versions.

Just looked these up on Epstein's and I could get a 3",6", and 12" for $41.05 not bad at all. pretty comparable to most everything else on the market which is surprising to me I figured the usa brands would be a lot more expensive.

Honestly, I too use chrome extensions on my impact gear almost exclusively. Never had a single extension break.

If I was to buy non wobble impact extensions, I would not bother with big names. Id go Sunnex, grey pnuematic, etc.. Or I would grab old usa from swap meets and the like.

I like my locking SK extensions from Epstein's. I had the 3/8 and got the 1/2 during the last SK day.

Only £10, work fine.

The smaller the impact & longer the extension the more torque you'll lose.

The new Milwaukee is almost too stubby. The anvil doesn't protrude much from the main housing, which in plenty of cases is a positive, but I can see a few situations you would need an extension now (compared to the Gen1 M12 wrench). I don't see myself using my shallow sockets nearly as much now, and could probably get away with deep only.

All I know is HF impact extensions **** for fitting tight on the anvil of any of my impacts. 1/2 inch or 3/8" though the 3/8" or only slightly better. (I had cheap import that fit better though they took a real beating)

The only one I really like to use are the two shortest 1/2" ones 1" and 2 " I think Just enough on my high torque or make my pin compact a quick removal tip

Interesting observation I have noticed how most ALL the advertisement photos of the stubby are with a deep socket installed

Those locking Porto’s are starting to look real good to me, I’m very pleased with my proto torque wrench (only proto tool i own) wouldn’t mind adding to the collection, i think they make nice tools.

Harbor freight. They stand up to the m18 high torque in half inch. No reason to think the 3/8 wouldn't.. the stubby isn't an insane torque monster to begin with, it's just big torque for a 12v.

My impact extensions are a mix of craftsman , husky , HF. both standard and wobble. use them with my earthquake air impacts and the milwaukee fuel guns. all have held up fine.

Just get whatever you want for extensions. I've got Craftsman, Snap on, Mac, harbor freight, you name it I got it.

I've been working professionally as a tech for almost 30 years and I've never broken an extension. I've lost plenty over the years, but never broke one yet

I ended up picking up the locking Porto’s haven’t had a chance to use them yet but the fit and finish is very impressive i think these will serve me very well.
