I would never use a wobble extension with an impact gun. I use a standard locking impact extension with a swivel socket on the end. When the socket isn't completely straight, without a locking mechanism it's likely to fly off somewhere.

with these grey (3/8) http://www.tooltopia.com/grey-pneumatic-1103we.aspx they are locking - just push the socket past the wobble. SO calls them wobble plus i think. i've never tried to use the impact when in wobble mode - just use a swivel socket - but i've used them lots of times with a ratchet in wobble mode.

even moreso than buying impact sockets not chrome - there is no reason to NOT buy impact extensions rather than chrome. use them with a ratchet when called for, on the gun when possible.

I grabbed a set of the HF 1/2" wobble impact extensions out of impulse awhile ago. They were on-sale pretty cheap I think. Anyway, tearing my truck apart this weekend they got put to good use. They made a lot of bolts much easier to get to with the impact. No complaints here!

After storming off the SO truck because of the high prices for their impact extensions, I bought a small set of HF ones practically out of spite. So far, they've been excellent, and a couple of them saw some serious usage. Who knew?
