Okay yall, today I was using my impact gun at work, I noticed it was getting a little war, so I gave it a little break. After a little break I started using it again, then I noticed it was smoking from the vents, any suggestions?

Damn.Sorry about the dipshit invasion.
Odds are the brushes are shot allowing too much clearance between the commu and giving poor contact, corrosion and heat. What brand and model is it ? Brushes are stupid easy to do....when caught in time. Like NOW.

Take its temperature. When it hits 140 turn it over. At 160 consider it done. Let it sit 10 minutes then serve.

It is a ridgid x4 got in 2013
You're under warranty. Even if they "might" require papers you don't have(original receipt) just take it in to a service center. Brushes for most brands are usually <$20 for the pair and a tech can put them in in about 2 minutes flat.

I'm not sure Jure. The way it works over here if you put a screwdriver on it and it turns out to be something else( $50 motor) these bastards will deny warranty repair because their little $8 an hour job gives them "authority".
Everyone is on a power trip.

lol then calling a authorized ridgid service seems like a best bet...well it can hurt your pocket and time, but at last you'll still have it covered with warranty

how much air pressure are you running it on? I've got an air rifle that will smoke if I use the wrong oil, high pressure and flammable oil will give a little 'crack' and smoke out the barrell...but i've never seen an impact do it on regular 100psi air and air tool oil...

Check if you can get a warranty repair. If so, it doesn't matter what the problem is as they will fix it.

Wow the blue smoke of death. Smoking of anysort isnt good, especially in electric equipment. I would recommend either filling it under B1n or w-p-b. Whichever is nearer. Or waxing it?

In your basement...seriously, go look now!
The Ridgid X4 line was tested in 2014 in one of the major woodworking magazines and though they performed well (a bit of a surprise considering their area of expertise is DIY not woodworking) the magazine noted that they heated up quite a bit after heavy use. That's what kept me from buying into that line.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
I used to smoke Camels.

I could never get them to fit into my smoker...

Going Whole Hog on the project seemed to work, tho...
