Impact gun socket retaining ring?

I've got an old blue point 3/8 impact gun, an at300c I think. The thing runs like an raped ape but it won't hold a socket. The retaining ring that hold the impact socket on isn't doing its job anymore. The socket slides right off. Is there anything I can do? Is there a replacement for it? Can I get one from another gun? Any help is appreciated.

Your Snap On dealer ought to have retaining rings on the truck. They wear out and need to be replaced occasionally. There's also an O-ring that goes under the retaining ring, the part numbers are AT300-22 and AT300-23.

As stated above, most dealers carry them on the truck in the parts bin. No big deal.

Those are the parts you need. If you have a dealer you can ask him, or call into Snap-on customer service and tell them that you need those 2 parts.
