Impact gun use: battery powered

No power settings on 1/2" drive lithium ion powered, 18 volt.

Are these type of guns used only to remove nuts and bolts. I say this because a faster can easily be snapped maybe even a wheel bolt tightened to 110 ft. lbs.

It's for bigger tight bolts same as a 1/2 high torque air impact. It's not meant to remove and torque dash bolts or valve cover bolts

I've heard decent things about that model, same for the 3 speed 18v Ryobi, and unless I miss my guess I think that the C3 19.2v batteries may be interchangeable with the Ryobi. To be honest, I'd prefer using a pneumatic tool for 1/4" due to the torque specs - I feel I'd overtorque with a cordless tool (I cammed out a lot of screws before I realized that an impact driver and a Phillips head screw don't mix and though I know better now I like power too much to give it up).

That was the idea. The comments above were saying a 1/2" was too much for some jobs and about power settings. Their is always a right tool for the job.....

I never used my air impact to install most nuts and bolts. Only for removal. Some electric impact have two different power modes. The Bosch is nice, you'll just have to feather the trigger when installing your bolts....lol

unless I miss my guess I think that the C3 19.2v batteries may be interchangeable with the Ryobi.

Ryobi and Craftsman C3 (along with Milwaukee, Ridgid, and AEG) are all made by TTI. The batteries are not, however, interchangeable. Each brand goes their own way on battery form factor - too bad....

best impact for installing small nuts and bolts is my small 1/4" drive snap on. very adjustable to very low torque.

I have the same one. Light, lots of power for size, and cheap lithium batteries.
I could do just about everything needed for pick-up work in a house.

Read the reviews at Sears. This tool is actually one that works.

I have been using that impact for over a year on everything from chainsaws to riding mower steering wheel nuts. It has a lot of control on the trigger once you get used to it and battery life is awesome. Not to mention it is under $60. When it dies I will be getting another one. P.S. I use it every day at a Husqvarna shop.

A 1/2 impact is not for finesse. Its for raw power and ripping stuff apart. a 3/8 or 1/4 hex impact driver is more for smaller bolts. I use my milwaukee 1/4 impact driver on everything. It works well for even on larger items.
