i've got a camball-hauss half inch impact and want to know how to set the air setting knob. on the bottom of the handle there's a turn knob with # and i'm trying to find out how to set the knob, which way, which way is the # setting to get the air setting ??? as you turn the # are they set as the # by the hose or to the handle ??? i know it would be nice to have a high end gun to use but it is what it is, or what it isn't, but to get the most out of it....... any words to the point would help.

You would set your air pressure to your desired setting at the compressor, then use the dial on the gun to set the max torque. Where 1 is usually the lowest setting and 4 the highest.

if you set the knob with the # on it, turn it to set it , what is the torque at the impact end? in other words "as you set the # knob at the air intake of the gun how do you read the numbers to set the toque for the impact or dose it even matter? the knob turns to set amount of air to be used? as you turn the knob and the indent sets how do you tell which setting is it at like #1, #2, #3, or #4 ? is it when the # is facing the air intake line or the handle?

Your user manual should shed light on your questions. Failing that, a google search for the model number. There are no mind readers here...

that adjusts the amount of force basically, sometimes you want to be a little bit more gentle about taking something loose or putting it on. find a stuck bolt and try turning it while holding it down, you will feel the pressure change and the tone.

same idea with impact chisel/riveter. if youre setting rivets in aluminum you dont have the thing balls out or it will just smash everything and dent the metal. so you turn it down until it gives just the right amount of force.

most of the time tho, on an impact gun you are going balls out to take something off. its mostly used for putting nuts back on without over tightening them.

i wouldnt worry about it too much, the best thing you can do is to oil it before every use.

Pull the trigger then turn the dial untill you hear the maximum rpm. This is the highest torque setting. Everthing else is down hill from there.

The internal regulator control on my IR 2135QTimax only works in the forward direction. In reverse, it applies full torque regardless of regulator setting. Don't know if your CH gun works the same.
