Are they the same? It has been speculated that all Taiwan impact sockets are the same, but no one can say for sure. I like Sunex personally. I have Sunex and Snap On impacts and they're both excellent, but Sunex is way cheaper. There is also a rebate going on right now with them. There are a couple swivel sets in there with mail in rebates. http://www.sunextools.com/rebates/Q3_Industrial_flyerForm_2016.pdf

Are you only looking at those two?

I have no experience with either, but if you were interested in other brands, i would recommend Wright Tool. They have handled everything I have thrown at them.

Pass on the HF swivels. Sunex and Gray's are fine. Sunex are etched and stamped Gray's are only etched. If you want the best matco pinless and the like

Not sure about Wright's impact sockets But there chrome have no broaching and I hate that.

They seem to be in my price range.

Are you looking for impact swivel sockets or are you asking about regular impact sockets and impact universal joints?

I think the Napa impact sockets and sunex are very similar but, not exactly the same. You can probably find a sunex set cheaper online but, buying a NAPA version would allow for warranty service at your local NAPA Store in the rare chance that you needed it.

As for impact universal joints, I find all of the Taiwan made versions (Grey Pneumatic, Sunex, NAPA, etc.) to be fat. They work ok, but, their collar for retaining the pin, makes them pretty chubby. For a 3/8 impact universal joint, I would opt for a Craftsman branded pinless version. they're relatively slender but, you'll need to shop around for a decent deal.
Speaking of deals, don't buy anything from NAPA unless it's on sale in their real deals flyer. NAPA can be pricey without a commercial account or not on sale.
lastly, if you were asking about impact swivel sockets, Sunex, Grey Pneumatic, NAPA, or Gearwrench versions will serve you well without breaking the bank.

Sunex aren't bad. I also have some Craftsman that are ok. I like the Grey Pneumatic sockets that I have too. I also have Williams that I like a lot as well.

Matco rebrands some Sunex as well for cheaper too.
