I have bought a 1/2 milwaukee m18 batterie impact gun and wonder what brand i would buy! Should i buy both a deep and shallow set or both? Which style is used for the most? Deep i guess...i am a home diy! But i only uses proffesional brands even if i dont need it, so no china **** please:) I want a set from 10-24 maybe 27 mm! How about flex sockets? Or whatever they are called. Gearwrench i has look a little bit on and frankly its pretty good prize and both styles! Any good? Taiwan stuff I am fine with!

If you're fine with Taiwan then get the Pittsburgh PRO'S from Harbor Freight. People on here have used them in a professional environment with good results. Plus if you are near a HF, you can stop daily and use the 25% off coupon too.

The other option I've heard about is Sunex.

In general impact sockets are fine all the way across the board. Especially for a hone user. Just look for the saftey standard. Idk if ANSI is global or just north America or just USA.

Sk on amazon looks like a good deal. For 1/2 drive I use deep sockets more than shallows. I have some sk impact sockets at work and really like them.

No HF in sweden, taiwan brands like gearwrench,bluepoint,toptul, blackhawk etc! All this kind of brands is only availible online for me! Bahco,stahlwille,gedore,wurth,facom,ironside i get in big industri stores here, but they cost like 40 usd/socket so that is not to think to. Bahco has some good stuff here for decent prize maybe! For exampel: 1 piece 19mm wurth zebra ratcheting combo wrench costs about 600 swedish kr!

Try to find deep sockets with full depth on the hex if you can. It is really frustrating when you need to have the hex deeper to clear something or if you have two nuts and need to get to the deeper nut and the deep socket's hex is only one nut deep. The diameter of the bore behind the hex is also important if you can't find a deep hex. The cheap sockets don't seem to have large enough bores where the material is swaged back.

Take a look at Sunex they have a master set that covers those size ranges.. Im not sure if they are China or Taiwan but the are very stout. I know my snap on guy sells a lot of them.

When I bought my 3/8" drive Milwaukie impact, I picked up a couple of Sunex sets... The SAE "master" set and the SAE semi-deep set. Made in Taiwan.

Now I just need to find a way to pick up all the Matco pinless universals I want!

If you haven't checked out Harry Epstein, you should. They have Gray Pneumatic impact sockets at very attractive prices. And, IIRC, they do ship internationally. Lots of folks on here swear by the GPs. I have a mix of USA made Kobalts and lots of Taiwan stuff from Northern Tool, and they have held up with no problem and lots of really hard pounding. YMMV.
Cheers,
Jim Don
PS, the folks at Harry E's are EXCELLENT to work with whether by phone or e-mail or in person. THis is a FIRST CLASS world renowned outfit in my book!!!!!

I am actually in the middle of making another video tool review for a set of impact sockets right now that are made by Tekton. It is the COMPLETE set of deep 10mm-24mm (without skipping any sizes) in 1/2" drive.

Tekton set #4883

For the 15 socket set & case, it is a little less than $50 on amazon (about $3/socket).

Very high quality, size markings laser etched on the outside, and a nice case too. I am extremely happy with them.

Also, I know Tekton has a lifetime guarantee on them.....you break one, call or email them & they will ship you a new one right out.....none of the "send it in & we will replace it" stuff that a lot of companies pull.

Here they are ---> http://www.tektontools.com/All_Products/4883

Buy them here ---> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009447UOC/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I was thinking that Wright gave you full depth in their deep impact 1/2" drive socket but just noticed that my 17mm. one has the shallow hex-then narrows-what I call nutstop-and my 18mm. one does have full depth.

Snap on seems to have bolt stop-the shallow hex although the round part beyond seems to be good and wide.

Some of the tool catalogs or websites might give the information as to the broach depth.

Also if you browse through some old threads shallow/deep is discussed a lot.

Same w/ 12 and 6 point but with impacts I believe most all agree on 6 point, I know I do.

Sunex is very interesting and momento even more, but i guess momento are really expensive! I rather pay much more for a good set than to little and get some ****.
1. I want a set with no skips under 20mm,(21-22-24-27mm are ok)
2. COO Europe,Usa! Taiwan are ok also if they are quality stuff!
3. I dont know the price for a set, but i pay more to get quality!
4. If thinwalled sockets are available so yes!
5. Deep and shallow doesnt needs to be in the same set, but same brand preferably

I recently bought the 3/8 Shallow and Deep Impact sockets for my Milwaukee M18 Fuel Impact. They are great quality and I'm very happy with them. I would recommend them to anyone..

Andrewh thats what iam talking about:) What does this 2 sets costs?

I paid less than $60 shipped for both sets. I got them from Advance Auto, I'm not sure how much they would cost for you but I can't imagine it'd be too much more.

Andrew

Part numbers are 84911 and 84914, they are sold on Amazon

So far good, but I've only had them for a couple weeks. Each socket is deeply stamped with its size so that's a non issue for me.

I used the Pittsburgh Pros for awhile from Harbor Freight and they were pretty good, but they were missing too many sizes. Got a set from Sunex and so far they're working well.
