impact universals

In the market for some impact universals. Don't have the money to go with full on swivels. What do you all think about the new sears pinless ones? What other options are out there.

I can get a 3/8" and 1/2" for $60.

I have the Matco universals which are pinless and I believe they might be the same as the Craftsman as they look identical. I have had them about 6 mos and use them every day, have not had any problems. They rotate smoother than my Snap On universals.

I have a Mac 1/2" amd a Snap On 3/8" both are great in my opinion

I have swivel sockets and swivel adapter. i bought matco reduce swivel adapter (cost me 40 dollars) but i can use any 3/8dr sockets on 1/2 dr swivel as use it deep socket with thin wall than use thick wall of 1/2dr socket.... it cost me money but i make good productions at my work so i need all good tools to do the works with no problem unless broke...

sears still sell swivel with pin on it as cheaper than pinless.... i had no problem with pin swivel socket....

i like mac tool swivel with "box inside" it is no movement inside than matco't pinless swivel as it make a lot of movement... i had few problem with matco tools swivel before but matco tool guy said just beat it and have me to replace it for you at no charge (under of warranty)

i just bought a 3/8's and a 1/2in last week from my snappy dealer and they were 40.00each. not too much more if you have a dealer near you.

Snap On's seem to work fine. Interesting you should mention this topic as I was thinking about peicing together a set. I have one Individual snap on I got used and it seems ok... loose but it will hold. The one thing I noticed about snap on impact sockets is that they are smaller in diameter than Matco, craftsman and SK. If we are talking truck-priced impact swivels, maybe snap on is the way to go simply because they have thinner walls for better access? After all, they now sell pinless ones too. Its just ALOT of money, especially for me, so Im thinking about piecing together a set for now... aybe buying one a week and just getting the most common sizes instead of a full set.

that why i bought 10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 18mm semi deep impact snap on sockets. i used it a lot and it work for me good. but i do own all 10mm to 19mm swivel impact sockets from mac tools. it is shallow. it dont use much but i use semi impact socket so much....

well i used my semi-deep swivel impact sockets a lot on chrysler and jeep. i used it for engine pull and transmission pull. it is work pretty good and no problems. but if you plan to invest on it then i would recommend you to buy semi deep then if you got in problem that semi deep cant get in where you need to do then use shallow with 3/8 swivel impact and shallow socket then it should be work.

but i always investment my moneys in tools as i make a good money pocket as i make my wallet heavy because i bought it from ebay. i would recommend you to look ebay before you decide to buy from your tool truck dealers. i know that snap on sell semi deep cheaper than matco tools.

Well i ordered the craftmans. Probably should have looked at snap on, but by the time i see a truck and flag it down, the ones from sears will be at my house.

BTW their online processing and shippings fast. They don't sit on orders very long.
