Where can you get the steel rings that go on the impact wrench, to hold the socket on. This thing is driving me crazy.

What kind of impact is it? I got the retaining ring for my blue point impact straight from snap on. Was 87 cents.

Any tool truck guy should have the rings and the pliers to install them.
No special tool is needed to install the clip ring. All you have to do is lay the clip ring on the concrete and push the anvil into it as you rotate the impact gun in a circle. It will pop on in a second. All 1/2" guns take the same ring.

Sure... First get the old socket retaining ring off and under it there is a O-ring. Remove it too.
When you get the new socket retaining ring, you should get a new O-ring as well as it is considered a kit.
Install the O-Ring. Now, Lay the new socket retaining ring on the concrete floor. Hold the air gun as if you are going to use it. Place the anvil (Piece that the socket goes over) down onto the ring and at the same time hold the gun slightly angled. While pushing lightly, rotate the gun in a circle keeping the gun angled slightly and keep pushing gently. It will roll the ring right up onto the groove in the anvil and you will hear it "Click" into place. The whole operation should take no more than three seconds. The rotating motion should resemble a ice cream cone shape. I do 10 to 20 a week for customers and it may take you a try or two but once you get the motion down, you will be amazed at how simple it is to do. Good Luck Sir.

My old Cornwell guy had a box full and the O rings too, any time you needed one he replaced it for you
