I've used a small compressor to run an air impact, and its not much fun. Think 'remove a few lug nuts, wait 2 minutes for compressor to cycle, remove another few lug nuts'. I'd rather buy a corded or cordless electric impact than run one off of anything smaller than about a 30 gallon tank.

Air tools **** without enough air to operate them.I would spend as much as you can afford for the compressor and then add an air tool here and there.Once you have a good compressor you'll want more than just a impact wrench.
