impact wrench question

I just received an Ingersoll Rand 1/2" impact wrench model #231G and the trigger is seized and I have no knowledge on the internals of these or how to rebuild them, is there any way to hopefully free it up without disassembling or damaging the tool?

The 231g i believe is the one they sell at lowes. Cheapy ir. probably gonna have to dissassemble it.

By the way, that exhaust silencer #18, take it out and get rid of it.

Thank you CWP1616L, I was just looking into that before I came here to ask, wanted another opinion before I tore into it.

Is it new? If so return it or take it to an IR authorized repair center. If not, chances are that moisture got into the trigger stem area and froze it up. So pull out the bottom screw that holds the front end on (the hammer case) this has a bent metal piece that retains the trigger. Then soak the trigger area with a penetrating lubricant and take some pliers and gently rotate the trigger back and forth while pulling. You should eventually get it out. Once out clean up the stem with some emery and lube it and reassemble. Let me know if you have any issues.

It is not new, I received it from a mechanic friend who was going to bin it because he bought a new one and didn't want to take time to rebuild or fix it, as for your response I will give it shot and will report back, thanks a bunch

Hose it down with brake clean.
