I bought a tool at auction tonight. It has a brass label saying "Imperial Brass MFG CO". Can you tell me what it would have been used for? Here are links to two pictures, first a side view "www.wanderingsol.comule.com/20151006101cropped.jpg" and a view of the bottom, "www.wanderingsol.comule.com/20151006102cropped.jpg". I noticed the cutter has a plunge action, so once it is screwed to the proper setting the cutter head can be pushed down a predetermined depth. Also there is a set screw on the bottom, evidently to lock the tool on the stock (like a tube with about a 3/16" wall thickness. It appears to be a hand tool and I would say it would be good only on soft material. At first I thought it would be used for deburring, but now think it would be used as a cleanout.
Thanks for whatever help you can give me.
