I think I would leave the walls white, but paint the long wall behind the cabinets something like this (probably not red of course):

Sounds like a good idea. Let me think about it.;)

Thanks Jorgen. :) I am so happy with the Racedeck - I was able to transfer it from the old garage to the new place without a problem. Perfect solution for me.

Alright - we learned something everybody should know: buy cheap - buy twice:

My wife bought this flimsy rack and overloaded it. A huge bang resulted in a big mess then. :lol_hitti

First I thought about throwing away the rack but then I decided to cut it into pieces and use it in the storage room behind the garage:

Changed wheels and detailed the STI yesterday. I basically spent the whole Saturday in the garage...

Weather forecast says hailstorm for tonight - so I tried something to get all cars safe:

It's been quite a while since I posted something here. I've been very busy in the job but hopefully I have some more time for my garage again. The place itself has'nt changed very much, but the tenants have:

I sold the WRX STI and the black Volkswagen as well. Now we were going crazy on Polo WRC - the limited edition run for homologation of the Polo for the World Rallye Championship.

Volkswagen did a stupid thing and put the 2.0 litre turbocharged engine from the Golf 6 R in this little pocket rockets, weighting only 1250 kg. Freaking fast little cars.

Now that's a NICE looking car to go in a good looking garage. Thanks for keeping us up to speed with your new car.

I thought the other way round so often.;-) I would love to have an LS3 in my Miata, but thats impossible in Switzerland...

My wife drives the right WRC, slightly modded to 250 HP as a daily driver.

The left one is my toy car for German autobahn and trackdays. It packs nearly 400hp and runs up to 185 mph. 100-200 km/h below 10 seconds. It's a true sleeper.

You guys (europe) are spoiled with sweet special editions. I certainly approve! Can't imagine how fun that would be. I recently found a clean 04 R32 that i've been restoring, packs 250hp with awd. Can't imagine that power packed into something even lighter.

Its a blast to drive and I love the faces of Porsche/BMW/Audi drivers when I pass them at 250 km/h... :D

Just caught up on this thread – you are indeed really lucky to find that much space for rent in Switzerland!

How is the ‘Sunday’ working thing in your part of Luzern? Famously, in Canton Zurich it’s illegal to wash your car on a Sunday! Where I grew up (rural Canton Bern), it wasn’t illegal, but was frowned upon to use power tools/mowers or indeed make any sort of noise on the Sabbath. If you did you’d hear cries of ‘Es isch Sunnti!’, “It’s Sunday” – possibly the Swiss equivalent of “hey you kids get outta my yard!”

Haha, yes, that's true. Thing is I don't care. I do wash my car on Sundays. OK, my wife forces me not to work with loud machines then, but we live really a bit outside the town in an industrial area. My neighbor has a very loud Porsche 911, so I don't care so much about noise.

HaHa, Ich see Rothaus Tannenzäpfli :rocker:

Good Taste

Cheers
Engelbert

Hey - yes! I frequently spend time in Stuttgart and there you get the famous Rothaus beer. :)

keep the updates coming place looks amazing aswell as the cars!
Thanks! There are some more updates to be mentioned....

Great space you have there Taurus! I love how clean, yet functional it is.
Like you say, a good size for Europe and especially for Switzerland.
I spent some time travelling around the country this Summer and it is a beautiful part of the world.

Do you have any more details or photos of your Polo?
That thing looks superb.

Ah yeah, I added something great to my garage these days:

Most important device in a men's cave. :D:D:D

I see Feldschlösschen but what other local beers do you have there?
I think my favourite Swiss beer that I tried was Oberländerbräu.

Don’t want to drag this thread too far off-topic but as the OP has shown us his cabinet full of Swiss brews…

Oberländerbräu is good, there are some good ones about but they’re hidden. When I was visiting family in the Berner Mitteland back in July, my uncle turned up with a six pack of this stuff. The name might appeal to the Garage Journal forum members!

Yes, right! I just got a pack of Chopfab from some friends from Berne! Its quite famous here. I love that cooler. So I always have a cool beer and we frequently are having parties in the garage now:

We prepare the garage:

Thank you! Its a bit of a challenge to keep it clean, because I always want to improve it in some detail. We have some local beers, like Schuetzengarten, Chopfab, Feldschloesschen, Quöllfrisch, Calanda, but its not like in Germany or Czech Republic. Swiss people are more into wine.

On the Polo WRC, yes, I can give you some more details. It's quite some work in there with a lot of changes. The car drives not really like a small car anymore. Its a little monster with all these mods. Here are the major ones:

- KW Clubsport coilovers
- H&R swaybars
- Quaife LSD
- Volkswagen R Carbon air intake (exclusively imported from the UK!)
- Superpro polyurethane bushings (all around)
- Wagner competition intercooler
- GoFastBits DV+
- APR Racing high pressure fuel pump
- APR Stage 2+ tune
- Sachs Performance racing clutch (for 500+ nm of torque)
- modified Bastuck turboback exhaust system
- rear seats delete

There is still some stuff to come like a big brake kit, racing seats, a cage, maybe. Car is a killer and runs nearly 300 km/h which is ridiculous for such a small one.:eyecrazy:

I will post some more pictures later. ;-)

Time flies - its already 2017! And there are new updates to my place of love. I improved the disco with some more serious equipment like lasers and a bigger smoke machine:

Now its really a dance club. :rocker:

There is another update. I sold my beloved Miata last September. I loved that car most of all I think. But as I never was able to get it street legal with a significant power upgrade I finally sold it to a collector who already owned an NA and an NB Miata.

A week ago I finally got this beauty:

4rpera2g.jpg

Yes - my very first Porsche. Its a 2009 Boxster S with 310HP and a manual ****** plus some nice driver-focused extras. Initially I looked more into Corvette C7 and Boxster 981 S/GTS territory but this little screamer was just too good to leave it at the dealership. Price was fair and the car is in mint condition.

There are a few things to do to make it perfect. That will be my summer project.:)
