I have a craftsman ball bearing type tool box, what I really dislike is that when I go to close the drawer it feels like it is snagging on something and this is true of all drawers in this setup. Has anyone modified the slides to stop this? my other boxes that are Kobalt and Harbor freight and husky are smooth as glass.

Do you mean the friction lock that holds the drawers closed? I think it's located all the way at the back of the slide.

The Craftsman ball bearing units with the flat or convex drawer pull faces have a much firmer friction lock than the ones with the concave drawer pull faces. The latter type uses a slightly different slide assembly and actually works very nicely.

I've never pulled the slides of the two types apart to see what the difference is, but that might be a solution.

Pull out the drawers and you'll see little crimp on the back of a slide. That's what's causing it. Just try and straighten out the crimp a little bit at a time until it feels right.
