I often times see where people post on a thread where the discussion may start going in a direction, political or other, toward being locked by a moderator. Their post is just says "IN BEFORE THE LOCK" or something short to that effect. It means nothing towards the discussion.

Why do that? I really don't know. Can someone please explain?

What is the big deal if you have a post in a locked thread? Do you join the cool guys club? It just seems like a waste of time to the poster to even bother typing a reply and a waste of time reading it to others reading the thread.

Thanks for any info on this.

IB4L is just a polite way of telling the OP not to post **** like that.

I understand that. I never thought of that. Thanks!
The only thing I could figure was it was 1 more post toward people who feel they need a high post count no matter if what they say is relative to a thread or not.

Mostly to tell the OP that their threads *****, has no purpose or worth and will be closed or deleted due to idiocy.

There are so many cool ways to do it too! I like this one...
