I've only seen this in a shop once, a few years ago. The lights looked like the same sort of ones used outdoors in commercial settings. Self contained incandescent spotlights with heavy glass covers. I've seen the same sort of lighting installed in the middle of heavy foot traffic, so the units are pretty rugged. However, I would think twice about setting a jack or jackstands on it.
