As soon as the frost leaves, I am going to be pouring my floor in my new shop. I was thinking of putting 4" SDR35 pipe and an outlet into a recessed cavity where I expect to locate my table saw. Any one have any ideas how to form up the cavity? I want it to have a bit of a lip so that I can put a 1/4 or 3/8 plate of steel over it if it is not in use.

I appreciate any ideas you may have.

Thanks
Matt

I used pvc pipe with ground wire and then caulked down a 4" metal blast gate. I have three openings in floor for joiner, plainer, and table saw. Then the pipe ends in a closet vented outside with a dust collector. Reason for the closet it makes it a lot less noisy.
Open just the one which I am using. I could have gotten electric ones that would turn on dust collector also but got the metal for about 1/10 the price of electric.
