Hi,

I started a new job recently and have an issue with the air supply.

It's pretty much the worst compressor setup I've ever seen. The compressor itself is outside the building in a little plastic shed. The piping then comes inside the workshop through the wall. The pipe then goes straight up and runs the length of the workshop hanging from the ceiling before dropping down around 15 feet to 4 outlets with hose reels.

As you can imagine the air that comes through it is FULL of water. I connected my blow gun to a reel and got a constant stream of water for 5 minutes.

Most of my tools are cordless but i do occasionally need to use air tools.

The piping has no filters or dryers on it at all :shocking:

Would one of these connected to each of my airtools do anything ?

I had one of those on a adapter hose for when I needed to loan something, worked ok until something got loose inside and allowed moisture through. I think occasional use would work.

By adapter hose I mean a 3-4' hose with different fitting then what the shop has, so you have to use the filtered hose.

I had a similar issue in a previous work environment. I constructed a free standing unit that contained a drip pipe and water separator that I would use between the supply hose and then used another hose attached to the tool. Worked well and the whole setup was no bigger than a 24 pack of beer

Thanks for the input.

I was hoping i could just use a filter like the ones in the link.

I move around the workshop so i may need to use any of the 4 outlets, making a filter box and dragging it around i could foresee being a pain.
