I put two of my racks on top of the restroom and bolted them down with some 3/8” hardware.IMG_8450.jpeg

The one in the corner fits nicely against the wall.IMG_8447.jpeg

Bolted them down and then proceeded to load them down.IMG_8452.jpeg

These two racks were set up on the floor together basically making them 3 racks long. I’m really satisfied to have that storage off the ground and I still have a 5’x7’ area between the racks that is unused.

I don’t think I mentioned the main reason for building the restroom out of steel was fire risk, I’ve seen some close calls in other shops and I’m trying to keep everything metal. The restroom still isn’t done but I added a little sign that I found in an old airstream trailer I picked up a few years ago. Looks like solid brass.

I also picked up this sweet aluminum boat ladder for $20 bucks that I’m going to put somewhere for loft access. I’m going to be adding on to the loft so I’ll find a spot for it eventually.

I don’t even know at this point, I’ve owned it for 19 years. Bought the chassis and body completely torn apart for $400 and then assembled it, threw an engine and trans in so I could drive it and then just parked it. It’s been sitting ever since, following me whenever I move.

And thanks!

When I bought the place it had this 24x20 carport set up between the house and garage. It was on a downhill slope and its location didn’t make much sense.

So I took it apart and gave the area a once over.

Moved the carport down by the shop, which is a much better spot.

Still some room on the side for trailers.

I used it for parking at first but it’s actual purpose ended up being a spot for the kids to play in the shade or out of the rain.

13 big bags of this stuff just piled up in the hot building was becoming obnoxious.

Wanted to get rid of that smell so I took it behind the building.

Haha, kind of. I still have it around but now it’s in this pile with the rest of it.

Did it reseed naturally? That much debris had to be seeds included.

Nope, other trimmings were eventually added to the pile and the only thing I ever saw growing was mold and regular grass. I was curious too and looked often.

Saw this laid over in the dirt at a friends house and asked how much he wanted for it. He said if you can get it out of here you can have it. So I borrowed a tractor and loaded it up, very happy about this addition.IMG_2029.jpeg
You can see the green growth where it was laying in the weeds.

This thing weighs a lot.IMG_2031.jpeg

Made a spot for it out front and it’s the new aluminum can deposit.IMG_2497.jpeg

Always loved the Texaco Star. One of dads friends had a Texaco then of course Davey Allison in the 28. I’ve got a 40x60 too. Need to put steel bollards up. Guy offered me drilling pipe. Just need to cut in manageable lengths and go get it.

Thanks, we really like it! I have a bunch of plans for the place and I’m excited to raise my 3 boys here.

How bad was it working in Fresno as a CHP? I lived there for about 4 years and have some really good friends that still live there.
Yep, I’m right next to Dunlap in what used to be Squaw Valley.
I was in Fresno in 1986 for about a year. It was really different from my prior area and I didn't enjoy it much. I did work with some great partners though.
