In response to Do i need long wrenches

Hi All
Fellow member asked the above QUESTION,well I needed an EXTRA long wrench a few years back to remove a starter.
I'm old skewl so I had one welded,it's took a lot of abuse over the years buts it's held up .

Often times a cheater pipe will create too much slack in the chain and you run out of room to swing it.

I've got a long one that is bent for access at motor mount bolts for doing 3800's in FWD GM cars. Did a few oil pans before I came up with that one.

I'm not beyond sacrificing a tool to get something running again.

Some circumstances demand it.

I'd like to see a picture of that 3800 motor mount wrench. I'll probably copy it. From time to time a tool has to take one for the team.

I thought of that as well, except his probably didn't cost $60.

I did the exact same thing ! The passenger side rear mount is a nightmare to get out. Looked at it for about 5 minutes and bent a wrench at a 90* angle to get it.

I think that is a very good idea and well done. I have never had a situation where I needed to have a smaller open end that long. I have some box ends that are quite long already, but only in larger sizes.
