I'm about to start my wiring of my garage build and was wondering where and when I can and can't use these plug in wire connectors instead of wire nuts. My house has these in the light receptacle boxes. Any thoughts on code if I can use these in all my plugs and light receptacles for my 20 amp 120V circuits??? Thanks

They're legal anywhere a wire nut would be. I used to use them, but then realized a wire nut is so much easier if I ever have to take anything back apart. I do not use them anymore.

On the other hand, if you use a 3 or 4 wire connector, there is space to add another wire in the future.

They are cheap and easy to use, but the same can be said for the wire nuts.
