I have a wall totally open where I plan to install a new TV. I pre ran the Coax and Cat 6 cable to the approximate location and have it sitting all coiled up.
I need to pre install a tube of some type to run the hdmi to the cable box below as well as any other wires.
I would like everything to look finished when completed.
Anyone have any links to a good product ?
Thanks
You can use "smurf tube" for the low voltage stuff. Blue tube, orange boxes.
I tend to run electrical PVC, definitely at least 1" (maybe 1.25") for HDMI. Put pull string in it. I drop it out (typically) double gang electrical boxes and then plate it with one of the various plates available at monoprice.com. They have "drop out" plates where you can feed the wires through if you don't want to terminate them at the box.
HDMI can be particular and if you have a run over 15' or so, I highly recommend testing it with your components before you button things up. Longer runs need "active" cables and their video resolution ratings differ and if you are using ARC (which is great) - there can be additional compatibility issues between components.
I would expect a recessed quad power to be more than enough at the TV and other boxes. It's audio receivers and high draw devices like Xbox /PS that can really load a circuit.
