Our garage has a cathedral ceiling, and I want to install a basketball hoop for the boys inside the garage. Can residential garage doors follow an inclined track application, to hug the cathedral ceiling?

Thanks.

Yes, if you are talking about the traditional roll up door. There are several members here who have exactly that, a roll up door that follows the vaulted roof truss...rather than the normal 90* bend at the top.

Sorry, can't think of a thread to point you to.

This is what I ended up installing in my new shop. It was about a 120 dollar option when I ordered them. One door is 10' X 10' and the other is 12' X 12'.

I would think you could have your current door altered to work the same. If in fact it's that type of door???

Good Luck

We did just what you are proposing. The last bay of the garage is clear span and the garage door follows the truss.

The back wall of the garage is 18 feet, plenty of room for a basketball goal.
