Hello all!

Has anyone else purchased tools from sjdiscounttools.com ? I recently (5/19/09) purchased some tools and when the box arrived I opened it up to find one of the five items I purchased. I emailed the conpany accoriding to the sales concerns link, but have yet to see my tools. I did get an email a few days later that said that one of the items was on back order and that he would check into the others. But, thats all I got from that. No more communication...

Is it really necessary for me (the customer) to have to try and track down my order. I mean it can't be that hard to send someone an email; "Dear Mr. customer items ***, ***, and *** are on back order. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will contact you with any upates"....? Or at the very least let me know during the check out process.... This *****. The worst part of all is that I'm waiting for a stinkin' bearing splitter and 3 wrench racks!!

Is there anything I can do to correct this issue, short of driving form Florida all the way to their front door in Ohio?? The scarry part is I didn't realize until now that under their "contact us" on the website, they'll only communicate through automated phone systems and email. They will not disclose a main phone line....

What should I do to get my stuff...?

Thanks,
Mark

Dispute the charge. Let the CC company sort things out.

I've bought quite a few wrench racks from them and had very good service-sorry to hear of your problem. I know that nealcrenshaw deals with them regularly - he put me onto them - maybe he'll chime in.:(

I have purchased from sjdiscounttools.com before. I too had a partial order arrive. They took care of it however it did take a while.

Don't rush into disputing with the credit card company. Just ask them to cancel the rest of your order.

I would buy from them again. They have some good prices and always answered my emails.

This dose not sound like the cust service I've gotten from them. I say, give them more time, send a couple more emails. I think they just take orders, and then the warehouse that has it, ships the items to you. Your stuff may be coming from Washington state on a fedex ground truck.

Definitely! Its actually against your card user agreement to dispute without communicating with the merchant. Its an expensive unneccessary (in most cases) last resort if the merchant will not communicate.

Be happy they sent a free(assuming it was) backorder shipment, at least you got some of your items right away. I think we are going to see more and more of this, everyone from the factories themselves, wholesalers, retailers, regional distributors, everyone is cutting inventory on hand to boost cash flow. Money is not doing any good sitting on a shelf not moving.

Man, busy day at work... wasn't able to get to the computer.

Thanks for the responses. I see what everyone is saying about the sales side of things, but.. I'm just glad that I received the Gerawrench Gear Box XXL set and not just a wrench holder!! I'll give it some more time. Thanks to all....

SJ Discount Tools is a drop shipper. He doesn't have actual inventory. His stuff comes from warehouses all over the U.S. I've ordered two items from them, one shipped out of Philadelphia, one out of California. I'm in NJ, the item shipped from Phila arrived in two days, the California shipped item took over a week.

I just prefer to buy from an actual business that employs several people rather than a completely automated system that makes one person rich. I've got no problems with people being rich, its just where I personally prefer my money to go when I have the option. I can feel like I'm putting the food on the table for several families rather than making one guys mercedes payment...
