Anyone have one of these Indestro 60pc socket sets that are complete? Are they common? Are they worth anything? Tia

There's a Duro-Chrome / Indestro thread here: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/show-your-indestro-and-duro-chrome-tools.94937/

Your 60-piece set was a promotional item sold in the late 1970s/early 1980s and contained Indestro (Super or Select) sockets, ratchet, and "Select" wrenches, and an assortment of other oddball items, a few of which may have been outsourced from other suppliers (like the box cutter, if that kit contains one.)
The small 1/4" hex drive handle and sockets were formerly marketed as a model 360 "Slip-on" kit.

Those sets show up on Ebay now and then, and invariably are missing a few pieces.

Here's one of those kits which appears to be mostly complete:
Indestro INL87 60-pc Tool Set (Ebay 164317738001 01).jpgIndestro INL87 60-pc Tool Set (Ebay 164317738001 02).jpgIndestro INL87 60-pc Tool Set (Ebay 164317738001 03).jpgIndestro INL87 60-pc Tool Set (Ebay 164317738001 04).jpgIndestro INL87 60-pc Tool Set (Ebay 164317738001 05).jpgIndestro INL87 60-pc Tool Set (Ebay 164317738001 06).jpg

The screwdrivers look like
Rosco / Rosenberg Bros. & Co., Smithtown, L.I., NY / acquired by Vermont American 1974 / (see also: http://progress-is-fine.blogspot.com/2012/10/vanished-tool-makes-rosco.html )
The tape measure is
Walsco / Waterbury Lock and Specialty Co., Milford, CT / patent 2242906 / http://progress-is-fine.blogspot.com/2014/09/vanished-makes-waterbury-lock-and.html / tape measures, box cutters /
The box cutter is
AJC / AJC Tools and Equipment Co. (formerly AJC Hatchet Co.) 5145 Hudson Drive, Hudson, OH 44236 / https://www.ajctools.com/

If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say the ignition wrench set was outsourced either from Kastar or Oxwall.

Thanks a lot for all the info and pictures I will have to keep my eyes peeled for any of these items and appears like the original tray is made out of cardboard so I highly highly doubt I’ll ever find one of them intact

^ The photos above are from an Ebay ad, and show the contents being held in an injection-molded foam tray (looks like polystyrene to me - aka "styrofoam").
The very few that we ordered weren't the "double layer" versions, so I can't even guess what material they might have used in those larger sets, but I would guess that it was the least costly they could find.
Those never appeared in the regular catalogs, but were advertised (to wholesalers) with single-sheet flyers. They didn't sell worth a damn and we broke them up and put the open stock (sockets, ratchets, and wrenches) on the display boards and the oddball stuff we blew out on close-outs.

I inherited one of these 60 piece sets from my Father, seems he never used it other than to steal out of the set 2 screwdrivers, an open end wrench, and a little 7/32 socket was missing. I put in place holders for those. The tray is indeed made from Styrofoam, mine has just a wee piece missing from it other than that it is just new. The bottom tray sockets and ratchet are nice, the stuff in the styrofoam is mixed bag cheap.

Inherited one from my father in law. Missing a couple screwdrivers, measuring tape and hex key. Box cutter is Walsco and a bonus not from this kit , a 4 pc wrench set that has a thumbscrew “klip tite set” from indestro as well. Will be posting more vintage tools soon.
