I found this Indestro socket set in an online auction. Worth picking up? Was thinking of maybe a max bid of $20 and see where that gets me.

https://bid2buy.hibid.com/lot/30059162/sockets-and-ratchets-etc/?cpage=5&ref=catalog

My present setup is mostly Craftsman from the 1960s but I could use a better set to leave in my car. I'm no master mechanic, just capable of standard car work and household things.

Also looks like a Snap On ratchet in the photos. Socket set looks complete, and I don't need another speed bar or torque wrench, but was hoping the experts could weigh in.

Thanks, Ryan.

^ The 3275 (RHFT) ratchet in that set usually goes for about $20-$25 on Ebay.

You do realize, of course, that set is most likely SAE, right?

The basic socket "set" (just the sockets with a breaker and cross-bar and extension - no ratchet and no box) will go for $35-$45 on Ebay. (I have two of them, one that came with just breaker and extension, and one that came with breaker, extension, and 3201 pear-head ratchet.)

Looks like there's a bunch of other stuff tossed in there. This is probably what it started out as:

Thanks for the input. SAE is fine, I drive an aging domestic so SAE is most of the car, and can use my junky metric set for some of the odd bolts and nuts.

Thank you for providing that awesome photo, four.cycle. I have recently purchased one of these sets and was trying to identify the approximate date, and you just helped me out a ton with it! It's a really nice socket set, and the 52-tooth 3275 ratchet has a nice feel and sound.

Take care,

Indestro tools are good quality. Not fancy, but work well. We had a 1/2" Indestro socket set when I was a kid; we fixed a lot of cars and mowers with that set and never had any problems.

Congratulations. Indestro is a long time well respected tool company. I have many assorted tools by them but no complete sets/kits.
