Anyone ever hear of this brand, Index? I can't find anything online.

They're pretty beefy... the 24mm wrench is 8-1/2" long and 7/16" thick at the head.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, I saw that set at the Vintage Tool Sale in Corona. I considered buying them, as they are a nice sturdy set. But I felt that there were too many missing pieces. Sizes 13, 17, 19, 22 and 24 mm were included, but not common sizes like 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 mm. Maybe those missing sizes were not offered. Nevertheless, they looked to be very nice wrenches.

That's where I bought them lol... This set came with the whole toolbox, which he gave me for a song. I was mostly interested in all the =v= Craftsman tools it came with. But yeah, these are very nice wrenches, just a mystery though. I figured one of you guys would know more about them.

Are these the sizes of a metric equivalent to our 'heavy' pattern more commonly found in industrial and machinery circles?
The 'missing' sizes may be more common in automotive work and wouldn't normally be found in such a set?
This might be a fairly complete set for its application.

Unfortunately folks, “metric” sizes are not one standard, but many.

13,17,19,22,24 may miss out some ANSI (U.S.) standard sizes, but that’s the complete lineup of DIN (German) sizes! If you want one further down, it would be 10

12 and 14 are JIS (Japanese) sizes. 15 is ANSI (U.S).
