Indexing wrenches Sears markplace sellers only?

Sears had a killer sale on these back in Oct, which I totally missed, half price on the GearWrench $40 to $50 depending on the promo and stacking. I checked on them a couple weeks ago from some online sellers and the advice was wait for the sale to come back at Sears, but now I don't see Sears even carries them anymore, only marketplace sellers.

Anybody know the scoop?

I can't add to your question but I did get in on the deal back in Oct. They are real gem. They have xtra long handle and with indexable head, they make it cake walk to get at hard to reach fastners.

Kind of looks like it was a true clearance, and Sears is now out of them maybe for good.

Worse case they are around $72 a few places on ebay etc., or I might just order the 8/10, 13/14 those being the most likely for me to use.

My local Sears Hardware has a ton of them on the shelf as of today. I don't think they are that hard to come by. They seem to put them on sale for around $45 every couple months. I bet they are on sale again soon. I finally popped for a set a few months back. They are a great addition to my toolbox.

I'm thinking one of the local sears may have some in stock, but they don't show up at all when searching the sears web site. I plan to stop by and see if I can find them, and check to see if they may still have the clearance / sale price. I'm in no hurry, but now they are on my acquire list they use some of my limited attention span until I check them off.

I bought the 8mm/10mm off cripe on ebay, but haven't seen a deal on any of the others since I missed the last one back in Dec. Anybody spot any?

It could just be that Sears is sold out. Imported items tend to be hard to get back in stock if they sell more than expected.

What is the purpose of an indexing wrench? I don't believe I've ever used one.

I just checked and Sears is showing GearWrench indexing double box ends as shipping and in stock for free delivery to local store, but $80 a set.

Indexing makes it an adjustable obstruction wrench. I can poke the wrench into a narrow space with the head making a right or left turn to reach the fastener. Combined with the 5 degree angle for ratcheting, should work where nothing else will.

Big factor is that I also have bit and socket adapters that work with ratcheting wrenches so I now have the flexibility of normal ratchets and bit drivers. Specifically I am thinking about a parts car I want the seats out of with very limited access to the seat rails.

I picked up a set during that sale, I guess I don't do enough specialized or tight work to justify them. I returned mine..

I now have the Gearwrench Double box XL's which seem more practical, for me at least.

ToolTopia has the indexing ones and was going to recommend them, until I saw they were one of their "Special Deals" which aren't deals at all.

99% of the time for online orders from Sears of GearWrench product, they are dropped shipped from APEX out of South Carolina. So if anybody was out of stock, it was APEX.
