Has anyone here lit their garage/shop with a majority of the light being indirect lighting or uplighting? You see this style of lighting all the time in offices, schools, libraries, retail, etc... and I've always thought it was a pleasant way to light a large area evenly without the glare of exposed "down-lighting"... Particularly on lower ceiling heights.

Example from a quick Google search:

I'm reworking the lighting in my new garage (well, new to me ), and am considering going this route. I've found a few references to it and questions posted here on the forum, but didn't find anybody that had actually followed through with it? :dunno:

There is a member here who acquired some fixtures from a demo job, used laminate flooring on the ceilings, the combo looked pretty good. To buy those fixtures new would be costly though.

I found the thread you refer to, but the pics are gone. He used Photbucket and they are no longer there. Good reason for Ryan to insist on the pics to be uploaded directly to GJ server, they never get lost that way. Some boards require this.

It was a very nice looking installation, good enough to drool over. T5HO with lots of uplight and some downlight. Lighting suspended on downrods in rows.
