When I worked in the States in 1972 I got some really funny looks when I asked if it was ok to have a *** in the apartment I was sharing.
I should have asked if I could smoke...

in the UK a padded footstool is often known as a pouffe.
A gay person is often called a ****.
Lots of opportunities for a laugh or three there.

A gay friend at work at work often describes himself as "I'm as bent as a nine bob note dear".

If you and most of the Board think this thread was meant to be funny, And Elroy was making fum of himself with NO ****** slurs or degrade anyone else where is the harm?

This "Politically Correct BS is going to far. Anyone who makes a statement about any thing is wrong if it offends anyone. This is BS.

I do understand your view and believe it or not I'm not a fan of over-reaching political correctness either.

I do however think that people would consider this differently if there was a racial connotation to this thread rather than one about homosexuality.

No slur may have been made, but simply the use of the word '***' is offensive in and of itself regardless of whether or not it's aimed at anyone. This is the equivalent of throwing the 'N' word around, even if it's not directed at a black individual.

Would you all do that too? If so, please prove it by replying to this post with that word. See how long this thread stays open.

Elroy sincerely apologizes to the board for kicking ole green teeth in the nuts. But enough is enough.

Any who..........

Is that one purse a Coach?

Could very well be. The Snap-On of alternative tool storage.

Elroy believes the tag in the original post is actually a Dooney & Bourke.

And if you think Elroy is going to let the wife discard a $300 purse just because it's 20 years old your NUTS.

Does Elroy have a case for his **************?

Nope, Elroy is not so inclined. However Elroy understands that "fasteddie24" is accomplished at ***********:beer2:

With your chosen profession and a last name of Sanchez, having a big nose and needing a bath. Eddie should avoid making such posts.

Soap is excellent for dirt Mr.Sanchez . You should try some.

Chronic inbreeding has left "Elroy" with many deep problems, and is nothing to be proud of, no matter what you have been told.

Have you ever worked in a professional shop environment? This is very tame compared to the non-pc stuff you will hear, plus the constant ribbing and continual bad language... the shop I worked at; every other word was followed by the "f" word and everything has ****** connotation; not my personal cup of tea, it got kind of tiring after awhile but it seems to come with the territory! We had a number of former military guys and just like R. LEE IRMEY; they had their cussing streams of consciousness that was almost down to a artform... I am not condoning anything but if you are expecting everyone here to speak the kings english and perfectly pc and not offend anyone.... well, I think you maybe asking a little much from this board... :)
And no... I am not condoning anyones "offensive remarks"; everyone has different levels of sensitivity.....

For a great non pc tour de force; check this video out from "full metal jacket"; R. LEE IRMEY as a Marine Drill Instructor: this is classic stuff!

Posting on a public forum is very different from joking around in the shop. I'll admit that I can be a bit crude when I'm with the guys, but I know when it isn't appropriate. Even at that, I think that we should all be conscious about what we say these days. I was having a conversation with a friend one day about how our parents would kill us if we had been gay. A few explicit terms were used for dramatic effect. A homosexual woman overheard us and started crying. I didn't even know she was there, nor did I know what she was crying about. I found out later and felt absolutely terrible. I don't even have a problem with homosexuality, but I guess it came across as though I did.

I voted yes on prop 8 here in CA.

Crucify me.
Everyone has their opinion. I don't find marriage that significant anyway.

I just think we should make a sincere attempt at not offending people. People don't appreciate it when you we around using the N word, calling people honkys, or using the word *** and I don't blame them. I prefer people not judge me and I won't judge them.

I don't have any problem with disagreement or debates, but being crudely offensive is ignorant, immature, and rude.

I don't care what is "correct" or not either. It is a matter of being civil to your fellow citizens. It doesn't just hurt others either, it hurts yourself. You'll come across as ignorant.

And the habit of procuring high dollar leather storage bags at bargain prices continues. Elroy picked up this # 101-5524 Coach Purse for $2.00 at a local flea market recently. We can assure you this thing had a retail substantially more than that. Besides it being one hell of a bargain, Elroy was looking for some storage.

Hmm...this has be thinking in ways I never thought possible. There is a bag of old purses in the truck that my wife is planning on throwing out tomorrow. Maybe I need to look through them and see if there is anything good in there. We are not "Coach" buying people, but maybe there are some lesser leather brands in the bag.

BTW, people who whine about language, images, and being offended should be banned.

Hey, those Coach bags have lifetime warranties!! Send it back to Coach and they will completely refurbish/refinish it for you free of charge.

Mrs. Rig is very fond of her Coach purses and has done just that a couple of times in the last 15 or so years.

You'll be the most well-accessorized tool-toter at the next gay pride parade!!!

Is this true? That really surprises me, never knew any leather goods company did that.

I also noticed those Coach purses, too. My wife has carried them for 30 years now-she has several of them in "rotation". After a while, when they get a bit tired looking, I get out the polish, and buff them up for her-they still look good. Coach used to make high-quality, understated leather stuff, but in recent years, they went "urban",and they don't make the kind of stuff she likes anymore.

So if Elroy is doing a favor and doing some repair work for say, a neighbor or a friend, do you say, "hold on, let me get my toolbox" or "let me get my purse"?:lol_hitti
