Did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for. Wondering who here has done an indoor wash bay (can be dedicated or multi use space) and where in the shop you located it and how you kept the water contained from splashing and making a mess. Would love to see blue prints of the garage or even just pictures.

Thank guys!

In my build I included drainage in the floor, for such a car cleaning purpose. But I have never used it to date for that. I have a lot of cardboard boxes and whatnot standing around that might get messed up. I will later make canvas curtains that will come down so I can spray water without messing everything up.

Another way of doing it is, spray and foam the car outdoors and indoors you wash and rinse with low pressure water, minimal splashing.

I have a multi use, doubles as a paint bay and real washing is done outside with the inside used as a drain pad. I can wash inside, just don't, I live on nasty roads and leave the grime outdoors.

There is a drain near the fan in front of the tractor, about 1/4 of the place will run in to it.

I purchased a blue tarp 8x12. I then bought a kit from Lowes to install brass eyelets. I screwed some hooks into the rafters and matched up the brass eyelets on the tarp. When I wash my car or truck, I just hang the tarp from the hooks and it covers the shelving where I store all of my oil, parts, car cleaning supplies, etc. I usually go to the do it yourself car wash first to get most of the salt and mud off of the cars before I wash them in the shop. I try to keep most of that stuff out of the drain if I can. The tarp has worked really well for me and it was a simple and cheap solution for me, Ed.
