For this unit can the piping go up to run in a drop ceiling? The drain hose will go out.

The unit will be mounted four inches below the drop ceiling. The piping (except the drain hose) will go up the wall into the ceiling then run to back of the house in the drop ceiling. The manual says horizontal and down only. I remember different. I attached a snippet of the manual. Any thoughts?

You can go up once you're past the unit.

What the manual does is show possible exit locations using factory "pre-cut" holes.

Thank you for clearing that up. I am glad I can now get the piping run up in the ceiling. It will be easier and neater. Thank again.

they make a small condensate pump that fits inside the unit so you can run the condensate with the refrigerant piping.

^^ Not a fan of those... One more thing that can break and if it does it makes a nice mess...

If it comes to it, I now know that option is available. Mess indeed to let you know it failed.
