I found this propeller at the scrap yard today and thought it was from a large RC plane or something but it doesn’t have the bolt holes to mount to a hub like a regular propeller has. It just has a key way and some set screws. Can anyone help identify what this might have come off of? Maybe a large industrial fan? The whole thing is 36” long and fits about a 1.5” shaft. Any ideas?? Thanks!

That's probably for an ultra light aircraft. The yellow tips are to help see the prop when it's spinning.

Oh ok that makes sense too. I forgot about ultra lights. Do you know of any markings the propeller would have that I can look for to try to identify it? Thanks.

About the minimum size prop you see on regular ultralights is around 52" and most are over 60". 36" might be off a motor glider like a Moni or one of those backpack powered parachutes. I don't know if the large scale rc planes go that big but you could try an rc forum. Shape wise it looks like a Master Airscrew prop for rc.

If they threw it away, it could have made contact with something and be damaged or unbalanced. I would not use it without a guard.

Thanks. Yeah I’m definitely only going to use it as a display piece. I’m just curious if it came off of an aircraft or just a fan.
