Have zoomed in, can't tell. but it does have a D in the model number. Not a huge amount off, but would be every 6 point socket in industrial, if these are industrial.

What's anyone think?

and how it's a hot deal? Simply sears seems to be continuing to blow out the industrial line, at different discount levels......So simply trying to see or keep up with what they are putting up from their old stock....

I'm assuming you are referring to Craftsman Industrials? From what I've been reading, they're Industrials if the item # starts with a D on Sears website.

I guess it's a good reference point but it doesn't look like that hot of a deal unless I missed something.

Even with the usual Sears blurry/blur tool photos you can make out USA on one of those 3/8 sockets towards the center. Don't know what that means if anything.

Just found the 12pt set also 142 pieces, with a D model number. So that would be all 6pt and 12pt sockets

Looking at grainger...the ultimate socket set. All 1/4 3/8 1/2 sockets 6 and 12 pt is 636.00.

so the two sets would be a 100 or so off ......if it is what it is...

I see usa markings on some of them. But that don't mean anything. I don't think this is that great of a deal. Though I'm cheap. I used to pick up craftsman usa sets for 20 bucks a pop, not the same as the industrial line but you know what I mean.

It's a big risk but one that will probably pan out for you if you need this many sockets off the cuff. If they're not all usa then you could just return them maybe?:dunno:

:fingersx: would be a nice surprise to see this set come in as industrial. I figure it's at least USA made. $80 with points and tool of the month points to slowly collect remaining professional wrenches at local store. I figure get the craftsman USA stuff while you still can.

With the need to stock my box and curiosity poking at me wondering if these were industrial, I ordered a set. They are not industrial but all came as USA made. So I guess the D factor is not necessarily an identifier for the industrial branded tools.

Got mine the other day. Although they are all USA, have u noticed the bigger sizes seem to be missing chrome inside the socket?

That seems to be a common thing amongst all of Craftsman's sockets. I have sets that are a few years old (USA), and all of my large sockets (>18mm/3/4") are not chromed on the inside.

I have noticed some of my larger USA Craftsman sockets have a matte grey/silver dusting inside of them.

But when this is scratched off with the fingernail, there is good chrome below it.

I am not sure what this is or why but it is what I have found.
