Has anyone used the husky brand shelves? Think pallet rack style, but not as big.

Home Depot has the 18” depth ones marked at just over 100 bucks and thinking of snagging a couple to keep boxed parts on and possibly engines and transmissions.

I like the Whirlpool Corp. "Gladiator" branded shelves. Very sturdy, no tools required, 48", 60" & 77" long, a bit over 72" high. They claim up to 2,000 lbs on the larger ones, per shelf, and close-to that for the shortest one. 24" deep. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gladiator-...D-Steel-Freestanding-Shelving-Unit/1000003004

I needed a shorter depth, so I modded several down one wall of my two-car garage to be 13" deep, just-under the side wall return depth.

I think the Gladiator shelves are thicker gauge than the Edsal shelves, which look similar, as do the Whalen.

I have industrial shelving that I got years ago from a Midas they were moving. They are extremely heavy, I have a shelf in my shop right now that is 3' deep and 10' long that has a 390 v8 and a FMX ******, and it used to have a 312 v8 beside them.

You can find the real ones at companies that specialize in used shelving. My boss has been buying them form a place called Yankee Supply, 2140 Hartford Ave, Johnston, RI 02919, 401) 934-1980

I don't have a good pic of them, but this one is the shelf unit I was talking about, the engines are on the shelf above that you can't see. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=719676&stc=1&d=1514632103

go used industrial for the shop. used the store bought for the basement imho.

I found 24" deep shelves work best, I started with 40" deep and found stuff just got buried and lost. I think steevo uses the deep ones to store lawn tractors on, another poster on here made a 2nd floor in his shop to store motor bikes on. been a long time since I looked but uprights were around 50 each and cross members were 25 each.

I've got probably a dozen sets of the 24" deep ones from HomeDespot. I only use two shelf levels in mine, so I space the uprights and continue on with the same shelf levels. Two sets of them give me 18 feet at each level. Takes about 10 minutes to unbox and set up a set.

The desk and shelving in my office are made out of the same units.

I've also got a bunch of pallet racking but it requires 12 ceiling to stand up. Current costing for one bay, two levels, is about the same as the HomeDespot stuff structure wise. Wire decking for the pallet racking adds about 40$ a level.

Sam's has some also...can't remember size or pricing. Also...you can find real pallet racking on craigslist or we have several companies locally that sell it

Here in Denver craigslist has many options for pallet racks in various heights, depths and widths. Maybe your area has them cheap also.

Tried pallet racks, home made 2X4 & plywood shelves, and "2 rivet" shelving. Hands down the shelving suits my needs best. new storage shed has 2 walls of it, holds a lot of stuff. Available in different lengths and widths, and shelves are individually adjustable, as well as strong.

I have the larger one like in the link. I can’t see a motor or ****** being put on top of the mesh alone as it flexes. If you put plywood over the mesh to help distribute it I think you’ll be OK.
