Inexpensive but good compression gauge set

I have no problem buying a used set of compression gauges or at least I don't think I have a problem unless that is considered a no no. A compression gauge for automotive use is something that I could use that I have never had. Any recommendations for a set?

My uses are DIY hobbyist.

I was looking at the Craftsman set but figured I might be able to get a better value for my money with something else, however I wanted to ask here first.

If this is the craftsman set you are talking about it is really great. I have used one at work daily and no issues other than not fitting on a couple motorcycle engines.

I bought a Snap-On Motorcycle/small engine set to replace due to this.

I've purchased some good brand name used ones over the years, Sun, Craftsman, and a few with the solid stems and rubber tip. the one I always grab is the Harbor Freight set I bought new. the used ones all have worn out o-rings, rubbers, schraeders, etc. the HF is surprisingly robust and easy to use...and cheap!

I was going to recommend the otc set, but it looks remarkably similar to the craftsman that was linked above, so I would recommend sticking with that.

I have the larger otc set, I like that it comes with the metal spark plug adapter for the deep ohc metric engines.

Go with the craftsman set, not sure if they still are but they used to be made by mityvac. Mine has saved me much time money and grief over the years. Especially on outboards.

The OTC 5605 has a longer hose, but the Craftsman does look nice, take your pick.

Hate to say it, but been using my h.f. one proffesionally for years. Compared it to a coworkers "pro level" gauge and got the same exact readings.
